Fine for not wearing a mask

Maksym Stepanov – Minister of Health.

On 31 October, Maksym Stepanov asked MPs

to pass a new law to curb the coronavirus pandemic.

Under this law, people who do not wear a mask in public places will be fined.

The fine will be 170 or 225 hryvnias.

The National Police will ensure that people comply with the law and wear masks.

This law is not yet in force. It was drafted by the Ukrainian government back in the summer.

However, MPs did not pass this law last summer.

Maksym Stepanov reminded MPs that such a law is necessary.

After all, the coronavirus is spreading rapidly.
